On September 17th, 2026, Luc Lagacé, Director of Partnerships and Innovation at Centre ACER, presented a webinar as part of Future Generation University’s Out of the Woods series.

Entitled “Chemical Composition of Syrups from Different Tree Species,” the presentation explores the chemical composition of syrups produced from different tree species and the factors that influence their characteristics.

The presentation highlights research findings on syrups produced from different maple species, as well as black walnut, birch, and beech trees. It provides a better understanding of their characteristics, helps demystify some of the challenges associated with their production, and explores new perspectives arising from the study of these different types of syrups.
