Lise Lessard has over 35 years' experience in maple syrup production. Her career began in 1989, when she worked for three years on a 50,000-tap sugar bush. She then worked as an auditor for 15 years, during which time she developed in-depth expertise in maple syrup quality.
In 2006, her desire to improve grading systems led her to hold the position of Maple Syrup Grading Coordinator for 4 years. In 2010, she joined the Centre ACER, where she now holds the position of Technology Transfer Coordinator. Her experience and skills have enabled her to develop processes and tools to improve the quality of maple syrup production.
Lise has also designed nine maple syrup training courses, which she offers to maple syrup producers, equipment manufacturers and authorized buyers in Quebec and New Brunswick. Always keen to meet the needs of the maple syrup industry, she has developed a range of products designed to help producers improve the quality of their maple syrup, such as a standard solution for checking the hydrothermometer and densimeter, and a color palette for accurately identifying the nuances of maple syrup.
