This calculation tool was developed to allow maple sugar producers to compare costs related to the exploitation of different types of evaporation systems. It allows the producer to better choose the type of evaporator that best suits his particular needs depending on the size of his sugar bush and that best suits the budget allotted for installations and exploitation. The comparison between evaporators is based on cost differences between different spending categories as well as the total exploitation cost for an evaporator. The evaporators selected for the comparison in this tool are those most often found on the market, namely the oil evaporator, the wood evaporator and the wood pellet evaporator.
