Re: Chasser les écureuils

Une réponse simple à votre question…!

Je ne connais aucun truc simple et qui fonctionne vraiment afin de diminuer l’incidence ou la sévérité des dommages causés à la tubulure d’un SYSVAC par les rongeurs. Il existe plusieurs fables ou légendes urbaines (on devrait peut-être parler ici de légendes rurales) qui font état de solutions miracles (piège, technique de chasse, nourriture…) mais je ne connais aucune étude sérieuse qui ait jamais mesuré l’effet réel de toutes ces techniques. Un conseil cependant : avant de chasser (armes à feu) ou de piéger l’écureuil dans votre érablière, renseignez-vous auprès des agents de conservation de la faune des règlements relatifs à cet espèce!!! (Si quelqu’un connaît les références exactes concernant les règlements s’appliquant à l’écureuil, faites-le nous savoir …)

Au Centre Acer, nous préconisons encore une approche écologique qui consiste à protéger mécaniquement les éléments les plus vulnérables du système (voir texte concernant les dommages causés par les rongeurs dans la rubrique " publications du Centre Acer ").
